‘American Idol 15’ top 4 rankings: Where Trent Harmon, La’Porsha Renae, Dalton Rapattoni stand

American Idol -

Can you believe that we’re just a week and a half away from “American Idol” coming to a close? We’re talking about one of the most legendary shows in television history shutting its doors and saying goodbye, and that’s a pretty emotional thing to think about.

So where do our four remaining contestants stand as we enter this grand farewell? That’s something we are here to point out in our latest rankings piece! As always, we’re basing this on a variety of different factors, from performance quality to voting history this season to even some trends from past seasons.

4. Dalton Rapattoni (last week: 4) – Dalton was in danger of going home on this past week, so when you base this ranking on that and that alone, there’s really nowhere else to place him in the rankings. Is it possible he can turn that around and make it to the top three? Well, the votes have already been counted, but we could see it happening … but we don’t envision him in the top two.

3. MacKenzie Bourg (3) – We definitely know that MacKenzie can give creative, moving performances thanks to his signature style and his musicianship. It’s unfortunate for him that we feel at the moment almost like there is a significant gap between third and second place on the list.

2. La’Porsha Renae (1) – We have a swap! Ultimately, this is a competition that is really all about momentum more than anything else, and we saw her momentum snatched away on this past episode. She’s going to have to figure out a way to get that back herself now.

1. Trent Harmon (2) – While Renae has been stellar all season, we cannot deny that Trent hit his last two performances out of this world, and they may go down both as being in the top 50 performances we’ve seen in the history of the show. This is the guy we expected to see following the audition, and if he keeps that up past history dictates that he will have a clear path to victory.
