‘Girl Meets World’ season 2 finale reaction: Lucas faced with Maya – Riley decision

Legacy -Girl Meets World” that is for the most part about growing up, and on Friday night’s season finale entitled “Girl Meets Legacy,” there was an inordinate amount of pressure placed squarely on the shoulders of Lucas. He had both Riley and Maya interested in him on some level, and he had to figure out just what he wanted from his future over the course of this half-hour.

Ultimately, there wasn’t really that much progress on the subject in the finale. Some of those feelings were still there, but just in a new setting. We really imagined that they would give us more resolution than they did, since Lucas seemed more than content to just let things continue along the status quo.

While we know that there was a heavy romantic component to the episode to all of the ‘shippers out there, one thing that the writers did that was smart was make sure to make this about more than just relationships. They also had to say goodbye to a part of their lives that felt familiar, and while it was exciting, it was also a little bit scary. You don’t know what awaits you on the other side, especially when that side is high school.

Basically, odds are that there were probably many grown men and women who teared up as a result of all we saw on the show. Everyone’s growing up, but at least Cory is going to be right there with them as he moves on to high school.
