MTV’s ‘Scream’ season 2 sets premiere date, adds new cast members

Scream -Ready to scream with delight over the return of “Scream“? While the season 2 premiere may still be many months away, we do still know officially now when the show is coming back: May 31 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.

While MTV is of course being coy about some of the details of the upcoming episodes, they have announced some of the first crop of cast members who are going to be coming aboard as new series regulars. (This news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.)

Kiana Lede – Known by some for her work on “The Smurfs 2,” Lede is going to be playing the part of Zoe, a brilliant “overachiever” who is still keeping some sort of dark secret from everyone.

Santiago Segura – The “Silicon Valley” actor is going to be playing the part of Gustavo Acosta, a mysterious “outsider” who has some dark passions of his own, including macabre art, horror, and a variety of other stuff. Basically, he sounds already like the perfect Ghostface suspect if there ever was one.

Can this show match the attention and the hype of the first season? Probably not, since it was the first time the “Scream” franchise had any such attention for a long time. With that in mind, it really should be the show’s focus instead to work more on just telling a great story, and having some interesting / intriguing cast members along the way. We’ll present some other casting news and story scoop as soon as we have it, so stay tuned!
