‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 12 video: The classic Evil Queen – Snow White battle

Just like “Beauty and the Beast,” it’s a tale as old as time on “Once Upon a Time“: Snow White and the Evil Queen used to hate each other, and as a result of that did battle all across the Enchanted Forest. The latest sneak peek below is further evidence of that.

In this preview, what we effectively have is Regina looking feverishly for Snow, and willing to do almost anything to anyone that gets in her way. Things take a violent turn, and eventually Snow shows up, corners the Queen, and then sees her disappear in her trademark puff of purple smoke. The only thing that’s different this time around is that this is all happening on Regina’s birthday. Couldn’t she just sit at home and have someone at the palace make her a cake?

The thing that we don’t completely understand just yet (after watching this preview) is why in the world we’re seeing this preview now? What is there to gain from this, other than some further evidence of something we’ve already known for some time now? Maybe it’ll be Regina’s birthday in the present as well or something, since otherwise this is mostly just rehashing more events from the past. The real action in the 100th episode (entitled “Souls of the Departed”) will be coming in the Underworld, where we’ll have a chance to see how the spirits of many dead characters like Cora and Peter Pan are handling their new circumstances … and also how they are feeling about some of our heroes.
