Is ‘Chicago Fire’ season 4, episode 17 new tonight on NBC?

chicago Maybe we’ve been spoiled as of late with a wide array of new “Chicago Fire” episodes, given that now NBC is clearly going to be making us wait for a while to see what lies ahead.

For a while, we were not entirely sure just what the precise return date for the show was going to be after this current / rather-lengthy hiatus, but we are pleased now to have some sort of an answer: March 29. With the timing of this episode, it feels pretty easy to assume that the show is going to run consecutively from that point to the end of the season in May.

Since there’s not too much to discuss just yet when it comes to upcoming stories, let’s go ahead and spend a minute or two charting out the remainder of the season instead. In the event the show airs a new episode every week, that means that it will come to a close on Tuesday, May 17. This is near the end of the May sweeps period, which will probably either conclude that week or the one to follow. Either way, the return date means that the show will be running deep into the spring.

We imagine that there will be some really big events that transpire over the course of those weeks, but at the same time there’s no reason to worry about the long-term future, given that it was renewed for a season 5 quite a long period of time ago.
