‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Oscars promo teases the Hades, the Underworld!

If you are excited like we are for “Once Upon a Time” to premiere on ABC in the span of just one week, we imagine that the promo below will be quite the treat for your eyes and ears! This clip was shown tonight during the Academy Awards, and it specifically does its part to try and hype up the return of the Underworld, and to go along with that the present the arrival of someone in Hades who should be the Big Bad for at least the immediate future.

The one bit of good news that we can offer for now is that his hair is not on fire in the promo; had we seen that, our own hair may have caught ablaze given that we’re not entirely sure that the show needed to be this literal in its interpretation of a character popularized by Disney in their movie “Hercules.” Instead, he does actually look somewhat intimidating, and we like the whole aesthetic that the show has come up with around him.

Based on what we’ve learned to date about the Underworld, this is a rather interesting place. It’s dark, dangerous, and many of the people there are people who still have at least some sort of unfinished business that they need to take care of before passing on. This is why there are so many villains there, with Cora and Peter Pan being two of the more notable names.

Over the course of the next few days, we imagine that we’re going to have some other news all about the spring premiere / 100th episode entitled “Souls of the Departed.” Stay tuned!
