‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 12 video: We’re all about Mr. Freeze

Sure, “Gotham” may have taken a little bit of time to get some of their promotional material together for the second half of the season premiering on February 29, but we are now thoroughly excited to say that it’s arrived! We’re very close to the show giving us the return of many beloved characters, and then of course also the debut of another in Victor Fries.

We imagine that the challenge in conceiving this character for the show had to be difficult, given that from one vantage point, you didn’t want to just make him into Arnold Schwarzenegger or exactly the same from the comics. This world has been set up as a tad more realistic than that. You do not want to see him become some sort of uber-realistic villain, either, so the conception of this character is largely all about just finding that sort of happy medium or perfect balance. We think the show has figured that out, and Nathan Darrow does a fairly good job of taking on this role.

As for whether or not Fries will have a central role for the entirety of the second half of the season, that remains to be seen … mostly because of the fact that there are a ton of people that the show is going to be throwing out at us over time. For example, we also have Hugo Strange to think about, and the show is not going to want to also shun people like Oswald Cobblepot and eventually Barbara Kean, who we imagine will have at least some sort of role to play before this all ends.
