‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: First look at B.D. Wong as Hugo Strange!

For those of you who are excited to see more of “Gotham” season 2, trust us when we say we’re right there with you! The series is returning to Fox with new episodes starting on Monday, February 29, and the photo that we have above serves as your first look at one of the latest villains in the city to be feared: Dr. Hugo Strange.

This image above of B.D. Wong above comes to us courtesy of TVInsider, and Wong certainly does a good job fitting in with what we expect of that character’s general aesthetic. There’s a little bit of that natural curiosity, the potential for evil, and then also the ridiculous chinstrap beard that the character is famous for.

Strange is a master scientist at Indian Hill, which is where we’ve seen the bodies of Firefly and Theo Galavan end up. It’s possible that this is also where Fish Mooney is currently residing given the events of the midseason finale … but this is not exactly confirmed. What makes Strange interesting is that he is a villain who probably believes that a certain percentage of his actions are justified, and therefore he’s far more terrifying than some of the other run-of-the-mill adversaries we see Jim Gordon and company run into. He may think that many of his actions are destined to make the world a better place, though we realize that this is not even remotely the case based on what we’ve seen in the Batman comics.

There’s no word officially on when Wong will make his first appearance, but odds are that you won’t be forced to wait too long.
