‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Homeland’ actor snags new recurring role
Sure, “Empire” season 2 may be some time away from returning on March 30, but who doesn’t love a little bit of casting news to help make that waiting a little bit easier?
Morocco Omari of “Homeland” fame is going to recur as a man with FBI ties who could be a formidable adversary to much of the Lyon family — especially Lucious. He’s someone with a tough upbringing of his own, with the main different being that he is going to be using some of his skills and adapting in a very different way than we’ve seen from Terence Howard’s character over the course of the series’ run.
When the show returns, the last thing on Lucious’ mind is probably going to be law enforcement. This is a man completely transfixed with trying to get his company back, especially since Mimi Whiteman basically tricked him out of having the control he so previously valued. Also, there may be a little bit of father / son competition coming courtesy of an awards show. Sure, Lucious may act like he is happy to surrender a little bit of the spotlight to Jamal, but we all know that he’s not. This is a guy who would love to sit atop the throne for as long as humanly possible; in other words, until someone dragged him off it kicking and screaming.
We imagine given that this is “Empire” that there’ll be some other casting news coming out in the near future. Be on the lookout for some of that!
