‘Gilmore Girls’ revival: Studio exec promises proper closure
Whether it be the four words or a variety of character relationships, “Gilmore Girls” never quite had the ending that so many fans out there wanted. Luckily, this appears to be changing courtesy of the new revival over at Netflix. Four 90-minute installments have been ordered, which each one of them focusing on a different season. We’re still a long ways away from this show coming on the air, but all early indicators out there suggest that this will be a grand opportunity for many to get the closure that they so seek.
One of the reasons we’re so confident said closure is coming is because of comments from Peter Roth, the head of Warner Bros. TV and someone who has to be very thrilled that the show is coming back. Here is what he had to say per TVLine on what creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is now able to accomplish:
“Amy is now able to finish, appropriately, properly and I think with great satisfaction, the show the way it should conclude … It’s going to be great. We’re very excited.”
It’s incredible in many ways to think about everything that the show’s cast has been up to since at least the midway point of its run. Jared Padalecki has gone on to be a huge star on “Supernatural,” Melissa McCarthy has several hit movies and a hit show, Lauren Graham was fantastic on “Parenthood,” and Alexis Biedel has done a variety of wonderful roles, most notable her arc on “Mad Men.” We don’t know if Jared and Melissa are going to return, but we hope so.
