‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: Sophie Turner teases ‘big’ season for Sansa Stark

Sansa Stark

If you have been waiting to see even more opportunities for Sansa Stark to come into her own on “Game of Thrones,” great news: This is going to be one of many huge themes for the upcoming sixth season of the series. She’s now escaped with Theon Greyjoy, and has an opportunity to figure out where she truly stands in the world. She’s learned a lot about survival, and these are tools that she can start to use to her advantage.

Just in case you are curious as to what Sophie Turner has to say about the story coming up, she presented a rather-nice tease (given how little “Game of Thrones” stars can really say) to Entertainment Weekly:

“I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa … It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”

We’re excited to see this, mostly because we’re thoroughly excited to see a season where someone from the Stark family actually has some good things happen to them. Let’s recap: Ned Stark was beheaded, Robb and Catelyn were killed at the Red Wedding, Jon Snow was stabbed repeatedly at Castle Black, and at this point Arya may very well be blind. Sure, you have Bran out chilling with the Children, and who knows where Rickon is at this point? This is a show that has not treated this family well, and it could be time for one of them to have some sort of a win.
