‘Mr. Robot’ season 2 brings ‘American Horror Story’ alum on board as new regular
You watched Grace Gummer be covered in scales as a part of “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” and now, she’s getting set for a completely different sort of role.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress is set to be a series regular for “Mr. Robot” season 2 as Dominique DiPierro (who may go by Dom), “a young FBI field agent investigating the Evil Corp Hack. She uses her instinctive skills to try and track down the fsociety members and find answers.” This is a show that has a tendency to be rather hush-hush when it comes to specifics, so we’re not entirely sure just how much more information we’re going to get beyond this.
What we can say is that it is interesting to see “Mr. Robot” going in the direction of law enforcement a little bit more, given that this is something we did not see an extraordinary amount of over the course of the first season. It makes some sense that some would eventually turn up, mostly because of the sort of subject matter we are clearly broaching throughout the series. This is a show that could benefit heavily from bringing in all different faces of the cyber-crime / hacking world, and the possibilities are still fairly endless. There are about three or four things in season 1 that we never saw coming in a million years.
The second season of “Mr. Robot” will premiere on USA this summer, and we imagine we’ll have some further news all about it in due time. Stay tuned!
