‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6, episode 13 video: Spencer faces the media

One of the interesting things that “Pretty Little Liars” has managed to deliver so far in its second half of season 6 is that they have figured out a rather interesting way to expand the world beyond Rosewood. They’ve made it feel more like a living, breathing world, and that includes making it a little bit more clear that regardless of whether or not they like it, the Liars are now celebrities. People know who they are, and this cannot be avoided no matter how much they may want it to.

This is probably amplified for Spencer Hastings more so than any other character with one key reason in mind: Her mother is running for public office. This is probably why she is cornered into the interview that you see below. At first, it seems to be mostly about her mother, but soon after that the focus shifts and it starts to become a little bit more about the death of Charlotte and whether or not she is feeling actually happy that her former tormentor is dead.

Ultimately, what Spencer really has to do here is walk along eggshells, given that she knows that anything she says could damage her mother’s campaign. Not only that, but she is also probably very much aware of the fact that the investigation into her death is still ongoing, and the last thing that she wants to do most likely is come across like even a remote suspect in what is going on.
