‘Billions’ episode 2 preview: Is now the time for Axe to be aggressive?

“Billions” last weekend got off to an ambitious start over on Showtime. While the show certainly has a strong premise when it comes to the impending cat-and-mouse game between Chuck Rhoades and Bobby “Axe” Axelrod, they still need to flesh out the tone and present us with more reasons to be intrigued about the battle to come.

Based on the sneak peek HERE from Sunday night’s second episode, we are at least starting to get a sense as to what some of these reasons are. Capturing Damian Lewis’ Axe is going to prove time and time again to be no easy task for Chuck; he has to go about it carefully, and make sure that he does not hit a snag that causes the entire world to come toppling down along with him. After all, there is one super-important thing that we are pretty sure that he has not forgotten as of yet: His wife also works for the same firm.

Ultimately, Chuck is going to find in this second episode that there are some further issues that make it a little bit harder for him to move forward; meanwhile, we’re also going to see in this episode Axe make a super-aggressive move, one that he is cautioned against. Of course, we’ve already gotten plenty of opportunities to see that this is not someone who is even remotely averse to taking these risks.
