‘Fargo’ season 3 will feature one returning character
Before we get too far down the rabbit hole of discussing “Fargo” season 3, we should go ahead and hand out that sad news of the day: It’s going to be a long time still before you see this show come on the air once more. The series will not even start filming until next winter, which is necessary in order to get the setting and the aesthetic right. Meanwhile, it will not premiere on FX until 2017.
As for the big news that was dropped at the TCA Winter Press Tour, it is that at least one character familiar to the franchise so far will return. As for who it could be, there are quite a few different possibilities. The problem here could just be figuring out who it is thanks to scheduling. Allison Tolman, Colin Hanks, and Keith Carradine were all huge parts of the first season, but at the same time they all have jobs on other shows at the moment. We assume that there could be an older version of a season 2 character involved; the problem there is that so many of the important ones are dead.
Ultimately, we feel like we’ll figure this out at some point in the future anyway. We also figure that there will be a wide array of new characters interested, and FX will probably have their pick of great actors for these parts, given what the first two seasons did for many people in the cast.
Also, we’re still not over the fact that Kirsten Dunst lost the Golden Globe race.
