‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 13 review: Sheldon Cooper’s apology tour

Big Bang Theory -Sorry can be the hardest word, but for Dr. Sheldon Cooper, it is almost impossible. Even on an episode of “The Big Bang Theory” that was really all about apologies from start to finish, Sheldon figured out a way to make it all about him.

Let’s start with his apology-tour origin story: Sheldon got really stick. Therefore, he made everyone completely miserable as a result of it, and the rest of the group decided to take a trip to Las Vegas on a party bus … without him. Certainly understandable. In an effort to try and get on everyone’s good graces, he came up with unique, shocking, and pretty crazy ways to apologize for his actions, starting relatively sincere with Leonard before completely going off the rails.

This leads us to Emily, the one person who didn’t want to accept his apology because he was still being a jerk to her about his job. We know not everyone loves the character or sees much chemistry with Raj, but the reason we like her is that she’s really the only rational character among the bunch. She doesn’t let someone insult her and try to skirt by with an apology that doesn’t mean anything. In order to actually get her on his side, Sheldon actually did have to come up with something that at least came across as sincere … and we probably feel that it was.

Is there always an ulterior motive with Sheldon? Certainly, but we like to think that he learned something with this little tour. If nothing else, at least this was a fairly entertaining episode that gave us some enjoyable quips and the best use of Laura Spencer in some time. Grade: B+.

Here’s the one negative: Why are we relegating Amy to Skype calls these days?
