‘The X-Files’ spoilers: Watch the first minute (featuring David Duchovny narration) now

X Files -

Can you believe that we are so close to the return of “The X-Files? This is a show that one year ago only had a fan campaign behind getting it brought back, and fan campaigns only work out a small percentage of the time. Even if it did work out, the odds were low that there would already be new episodes available in such a short time line.

Luckily, this all happened to work out in our favor, and to celebrate the show’s return on January 24 following the NFC Championship Game, Fox has already released the opening scene! Really it is more of a retrospective than anything else, but if you head over here you can see a look back at basically how we got to the point we are now. David Duchovny’s Fox Mulder serves as narrator as he explains his journey, working with Scully, and how his “obsession” has not waned even after so many years.

This introduction works as a nice little reminder of some important events for longtime fans, but we also like it since it gives new fans a basic primer in 60 seconds about why they should check out this show. We think that there is quite a bit of good stuff in here for everyone to enjoy, so there should not be any pressure to have to go back and binge-watch past seasons first in order to catch up, even if they may miss out on a reference here or there if they go into the revival blindly.

We will have more X-Files news over at CarterMatt. so be sure to come back for all of the latest scoop.
