‘Prison Break’ revival is going forward; Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell working on scheduling
With “The X-Files” revival now less than one month away from premiering on Fox, much of the focus can now go to making one of the other big upcoming revivals happen: “Prison Break.” The iconic show has been the subject of reports now for many months, and while we still have no idea how in the world you’re going to bring it back based on what happened to Michael, clearly Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell have figured something out.
With that being said, there are still some scheduling roadblocks in play here. Both actors have been busy as of late filming “Legends of Tomorrow” for The CW, and if they are going to reprise their old roles, they will have to do it in some sort of hiatus. This is the sort of message that Miller relayed in a chat (per TVLine) at the TCA Summer Press Tour today:
“There are a lot of moving parts to that conversation … but we are hopeful that we’ll be able to shoot something this spring. Prison Break is taking its cue from Legends, which is the priority. So we’re aiming for spring.”
If the show is filmed in the spring, we could easily see it settling in for some sort of January debut similar to what “The X-Files” is doing. It could air from early January until March, and then allow “Gotham” to have a little bit of a break. Wouldn’t this be the best for all parties involved? So long as there is more “Prison Break,” we’re certainly going to be satisfied and then some.
Trust us when we say that we’ll have some other news on “Prison Break” very soon; be on the lookout!
