‘The Biggest Loser’ premiere: Temptation, Richard Hatch, and more of what to expect
Monday night is not just the premiere of “The Bachelor” on ABC; another long-running franchise in “The Biggest Loser” is also back on with new episodes, and based on everything that NBC is putting out there at the moment, this could be one of the more interesting seasons that we’ve seen to date.
One thing that the network is doing is taking a less-is-more approach. The season is only going to run for eight weeks this time, with the live finale on February 22 serving as the very end. With that, the show will have to cram more things in, and hopefully get rid of some of the long-winded weigh-ins that have made this almost a show suited perfectly for DVR viewing only.
Also, they’ve got a new theme in “Temptation Nation,” just to remind you that there are a thousand or so different ways to get your diet off-course these days. The contestants this season will be tempted more than likely by plenty of food options that could lead them astray, and then also by money at various points. Will someone take cash and walk away from the show? That’s an interesting question. We could see someone who just wants money leaving, and then also potentially someone who feels like they’ve learned what they need to in order to continue this at home. Yet, will this person risk public backlash of looking like they’re greedy.
Of course, the most interesting part of all of this to us is the presence of “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch. We’re not a regular “Biggest Loser” viewer, but we’re certainly fans of the CBS show and are therefore very familiar with Hatch’s TV history as a result.
