‘The Voice’ UK: will.i.am reportedly not thrilled with handling of Sir Tom Jones exit

VoiceEven though it has now been several months since Sir Tom Jones exited from “The Voice” UK, there is still plenty of conversation out there about it … and while will.i.am may have some strong opinions about it, he’s choosing to stay mostly quiet.

What the Black Eyed Peas hitmaker was willing to say (per Digital Spy) while promoting the upcoming season is that the way in which Jones’ exit went down, which led to the entertainer blasting the show for dismissing him without warning, is something that does upset him:

“There’s a lot of changes that have happened … The way it was done, I didn’t like … This is a family so for you to come into my house and to say, ‘Hey, show me where your dirty laundry’s at’, I can’t show people’s underwear. So this is a family, even being on the BBC it’s a family, so how things were handled we know wasn’t the best but I can’t tell you how I feel about it.”

What we still don’t quite understand is why Sir Tom was let go in the first place. While he’s probably not bringing in many younger viewers, is Boy George really doing that in his place? He had such a devoted following, especially in Wales, and the show was getting very good ratings. It even on average defeated “The X Factor” in 2015, so why in the world would they want to dispatch of someone who helped so much? Some things, alas, shall remain a mystery.
