Poppy Harlow passes out briefly during CNN broadcast, recovers on air
There was a scary moment that took place on CNN earlier today, and in this instance it had nothing to do with the reporting of the news.
While in the middle of a live broadcast discussing President Obama poll numbers, anchor Poppy Harlow started to slur her words before becoming silent. The network cut to commercial, and when they returned Harlow told viewers she “got a little hot and [then] passed out for a moment.” She assured viewers that she was okay.
Harlow is six months pregnant, and following the segment she went to the hospital to undergo testing. Shortly after that, she posted a message on Twitter stating that both she and her daughter due early next year are doing just fine. Happy to hear.
On a different note, we recommend not reading the YouTube comments on the video below; they are probably the perfect example of everything that is wrong with the internet. Everybody’s got different viewpoints politically, but what’s the point of being a terrible human being to someone who is clearly going through a scary health situation?
Now that we’ve gotten that aside out of the way, it’s good to see that Harlow is doing well.
CNN is currently bracing for an even busier week than usual, given that they are planning ahead for their annual New Year’s Eve live special with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin, which has grown to develop a little bit of a cult following over the year. It is also our chosen way to ring in the new year, since it combines everything from nostalgia to constant humor.
We’ll have some other news when it comes to this special … well, on New Year’s Eve. What else did you expect? Stay tuned.
