‘Doctor Who’ season 10: The many mysteries that lie ahead for Peter Capaldi, cast

Doctor Who -Tomorrow, “Doctor Who” is going to air their full Christmas Special, and with that a very long break lies ahead for everyone involved.

As for when season 10 will officially premiere on the BBC … your guess ultimately is as good as anyone else’s. All we can say for certain is that filming will not be beginning until the spring (which is several months later than with seasons 8 and 9), so it is impossible to imagine that all of season 10 will be ready for the fall. We could envision that there could be some sort of split-season format where we get some in the fall and some in the spring, similar to what we had last in season 7. Or, it’s possible that the Christmas Special could just launch the season as a whole, and it could air in either the winter or the spring of 2017.

In other news, look for rumors surrounding Peter Capaldi’s future to circulate for however long until he confirms one way or another if he is leaving / sticking around for season 11. Three seasons is about the average stint for a Doctor these days, this is a very demanding job, and at 57 years old the rigors of doing this job physically are probably more present than they were for either Matt Smith or David Tennant.

As for the next Companion, all that has been said so far is that it is probably going to be a woman, and there are some ideas floating around. Hopefully, we will have a greater sense as to who it could be after the Christmas Special.
