‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Eli’s sad situation

Iowa -The Good Wife” will be back on CBS come Sunday, January 10, and you’re going to get a chance to see a situation that may very well be one of the most awkward in the history of the show.

If you saw the end of the winter finale, it’s easy to figure out that things are in a rather tenuous place right now between Alicia Florrick and Eli Gold. He admitted to her that he is responsible for deleting a voicemail message left to her by Will Gardner that could have changed everything between the two of them. He did it for the sake of what he felt was right … at least in terms of the bottom line. He had to know that he was being a miserable human being, and he pretty much admitted such.

As for the story moving forward now, the photo above (via TV Guide) makes it abundantly clear that Eli is going to be hopping aboard the campaign bus with Peter and Alicia as they begin their preparation for the Iowa Caucuses, and the idea of him in the same room with a woman who pretty much hates him is one that leads to fireworks.

What makes this even more complicated? The fact that Peter is in the dark of many details when it comes to this, and to go along with that, they are heading to a place where a public facade is necessary. The last thing that Peter’s campaign needs is any sort of indication that there is trouble, since this would mean problems aplenty for him.
