‘Mistresses’ season 4 returning to Los Angeles; could this mean Alyssa Milano return?
Could we be looking at a return to the original “Mistresses” when the series premieres on ABC this coming summer?
If you may recall, Alyssa Milano departed the series at the end of season 2, with the primary reason being that with the show’s move to Vancouver, she did not want to uproot her young family. This move was believed to be one with cutting costs in mind, which should not be much of a surprise given how many shows already film in the Canadian city, including many that air on The CW.
However, the latest news could change everything. According to Deadline, the series was granted tax incentives by the California Film Commission so that it can return to Los Angeles for a fourth season, and in theory, this means that Milano could reprise her role as Savi. As of this writing, she has not been tied to another series that would impede this from happening.
While the site notes that no conversations have taken place just yet between Milano and “Mistresses” production house ABC Studios, this should not be seen as a sign of anything at this point. Savi was a popular character, and we feel like there would be tremendous viewer interest in seeing her again provided that Milano is ready to return. As you may recall, the reason that she departed last season was after learning the truth about her sister Joss and Harry.
“Mistresses” was renewed earlier this year for a fourth season, and around that time it was revealed that Jennifer Esposito would not be returning as her character of Calista Raines.
