ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Who’s off to Los Angeles for a case?
For those who want to see “Castle” venture out to new or at least different places, we’ve got a little bit of scoop for you on at least one upcoming episode: We’re heading to Los Angeles! Or, we suppose we should say that the cast is actually not going to have to pretend to be in New York for a change! While this is not the first time that “Castle” has told an L.A. story, it has to be nice to be able to stop having to do all of the camera tricks for at least a little while.
According to a report from TVLine, an upcoming story on the show is going to feature Nathan Fillion’s Rick going along with Alexis and Hayley to investigate a murder that could be connected to something that the NYPD are working on. Not only that, but there is something in this episode that will be connected in one way or another to the story of Rick’s disappearance from over a year ago, which is nice to know given that there are still not a whole lot of answers there.
“Castle” is going to be returning in early February for the next part of its season, which we presume is going to be slightly more entertaining to some given that there is no longer such a heavy veil on the status of our two leads. Castle and Beckett will be back together; not only that, but they will at least be somewhat involved in each other’s work lives, even with Rick now in the private-investigator world permanently.
We’ll have some further news throughout the hiatus, so stay tuned…

If this is a Beckett light episode, and it sounds like it is, word around the Internet (Twitter, blogs, etc.) is negative. It’s a skip for many.

Are they actually back together or are they following the “fake separation” story line? They are not nearly the same thing.

I call them back together personally just because privately, they are. My feeling is that they’ll keep up appearances for a while.

That means that we will see very little of the true strength of the show then, in my opinion. I think that H&W have completely lost their way in terms of understanding what made the show great. It was the interaction of the two leads first and then the same for the ensemble. They have effectively broken both of those things this year and are so enamored of what they have created that they won’t even try to fix it because they refuse to recognize the inherent flaws in there basically being no screen time devoted to the full team interacting. When is the last time Lanie made any real kind of appearance? My biggest question is that if in fact they’ve guaranteed that this is the last season of the show will they keep up this asinine story line for the rest of the season, thus guaranteeing that we will never see any episodes with the couple truly back together and working together without the juggling required because of a fake separation and/or dumb excuses for a PI to be involved in NYPD cases?

Jim, I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying. I wander who came up with the idea to have separate stories for the leads. I hope if it is the last season they at least solve this asinine story and go out on a high note.

I’m also very serious about wondering how much Hawley is really invested in this show any longer since ABC made the mistake of giving him a new show for next fall.

So could someone please explain why Alexis has apparently dropped out of school?

You think another “Beckett less episode?”

Not necessarily, but there may not be a ton of screen time of her with the team.

Not sure how this story line gives the fans what they tune for – the best romantic comedy team since The African Queen working together for as much of the show time as possible.
