ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Rick’s disappearance will be tied to Kate
There are several twists through the past two seasons of “Castle” that have been proven to be rather polarizing to fans, but none more so than the whole matter of Rick’s disappearance. It first became a story thread in between seasons 6 and 7, and we learned near the end of last season that some of the time he spent overseas. We know that this was a pretty lame resolution to that story, but the good news was that this is not the only time the show plans to address it.
Not only that, but when you do see this disappearance story a little bit later this season, you’re going to learn that this is tied directly into what is going on with Kate Beckett. Speaking to TVLine, co-showrunner Alexi Hawley made it clear that this is an element of the story that they are working on:
“We haven’t nailed the story down for it, but we do like the idea that something that Castle came across during his missing time is actually why his memory was wiped — and it wasn’t necessarily about the reason we showed in Season 7. And it does have something to do with Beckett. But we haven’t nailed it all the way down yet.”
Is there a way to wipe away all of our own personal bad feelings about this story? Certainly. If the show manages to come with a solution to this missing time that helps to explain more of what Beckett is working on now, it could be the best-case scenario. Not only that, but it’s further justification for why Kate needs Rick and his particular brand of expertise around rather than keeping him in the dark.

How is “Wiping memory” possible? The only thing the showrunner’s has done was to wipe out the ratings. The last episodes of season 7 and most of season 8 is unbelievable. I hope the show runners don’t think we are stupid to go along with their impossible thread. I give them 1 episode to get this Lokset and Vikram done. Give us back the Castle we have enjoyed for 6 seasons. Good bye these showrunner clowns or there will be a lot of unemployed cast this summer,.

These two couldnt be stupider if they tried. Who hired them? Lets make it up as we go. They are doing such a bang up job with what was planned! Lord

These two showrunner clowns “have no idea” ! All they are doing is running CASTLE into the ground. Their story telling is all over the place with ridiculous results I hope they are not testing our intelligence.

LokSat had Castle disappear and wanted him out for as long as possible. This kept Beckett busy investigating that and keeping her off any other investigation of them. You might think that her investigation would lead to them, but with Henry Jenkins and the Balal cover story, could have kept her away.
Just one wild theory. Almost Castleesque.

Since when was a detective able to jump so many ranks to be Captain. And when does a Captain of a precinct get to attend a murder scene. This is the impossible storylines these two showrunner clowns want us to follow. Loksat, don’t get me started!

The writers have an idea of how it’s gonna unfold. Isn’t it kinda late to be hashing it out. I get a feeling we’ll see 7.20 alloyd over again. An unsatisfactory mishmash of incoherent ideas.

Hard to trust that the writers will get this kind of storyline right. I will hope that somehow everyone’s has their memory erased like Rick did and they forget all the ridiculous plot lines that have gone on this season.

I hope they have a better story line to tie al this together . We will just have to see if the writers come up with something that makes sense or will they go off in another Tangent as the breakup story.
