‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ episode 13 video: Focusing on Spencer and Tasha
Wednesday night’s “Survivor” is coming off of an episode where newly-eliminated Joe was in a scary situation at a challenge, and it is looking now as though the same thing could be said for Tasha.
Let’s start by saying that the challenge in the video below is no joke. It looks legitimately intense, and given how exhausted all of these players have to be at this point, it is easy to figure out how these sort of scary situations could happen. First, Spencer knocks his head in a way that looks especially painful; following that up, Tasha screams that she needs help while trying to swim, her reserves completely depleted. We’re not concerned about her safety, since the medical team is at the challenge to attend to anything the moment that something happens. That’s why the response time was so quick with Joe.
As for what sort of impact these sort of injuries could have on the players, it’s mostly about whether or not they’ll have the mental fortitude to really strategize and figure out what their next move is. For Joe, he said in his exit interview that he was so out of it following passing out in the challenge that he was not able to do much of anything leading up to tribal council.
We do have a hard time thinking either Spencer or Tasha leaves the game because of this. They’ve both worked so hard over two seasons that we see them having the resilience, medical permitting, to move on.
There’s one part of where we are in the season right now that has not been talked about extensively, and it is the fact that we are at the final seven right now, and the finale typically starts with the final five. Therefore, either Wednesday’s episode is going to have to eliminate two people one way or another, or the finale is starting with six castaways. That’s probably too much to cram into an episode that also has to deal with the final tribal council and all of the machinations there.
