‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 9 teaser: Negan’s arrival looms in special scene
Rather than doing the predictable thing on Sunday night and giving you a straight promo for the rest of “The Walking Dead” this season, AMC decided to give quite a gift instead (something almost good enough to make up for “Into the Badlands” airing before “Talking Dead”): Giving a bonus scene that basically sets up the arrival of Negan into the show’s universe.
In this scene, Abraham, Sasha, and Daryl come across a biker gang who utters the name of the signature villain for the first time. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in the role, but based on what we’re hearing at the moment, it may be a while before the show actually introduces the character in the flesh.

In the graphic novel Negan’s name is pretty much whispered around like he is the boogieman LONG before he actually shows up. They don’t say his name though he introduces himself. So I don’t know how I feel about this change. I forget what his title was because as soon as he introduces himself and makes quite the impression he becomes Negan.
I think it was Leader of the saviors? Or something. It was almost like the people talking about him both worshiped and feared him. Everyone thought he was just a carbon copy of the governor. Until he wasn’t.
