‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 10 spoilers: Full ‘Broken Heart’ synopsis
Usually we only have to wait a day or two after the most-recent “Once Upon a Time” episode to find out news about what is coming up next. However, not getting a new episode of the show this past Sunday put things on hold for a little while. “Broken Heart” is coming on the air Sunday night, and judging from the just-released synopsis from ABC, this is going to be an enormous hour of television for the Captain Hook character:
“In a Camelot flashback, Hook becomes a Dark One and his lust for revenge against Rumplestiltskin is reignited. When Emma and Hook disagree about their best course of action, the final pieces of the puzzle are revealed as events in Camelot catch up to the present and we witness a charged confrontation between the forces of light and dark that sends our heroes on a collision course with destiny. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Hook’s centuries old lust for revenge against Gold puts both of their fates in jeopardy while Emma’s love faces the ultimate test as she tries to convince Hook to turn away from the darkness before she, Mary Margaret, David and Regina embark on a new mission as an unsuspected evil is released.”
Ultimately, Emma is going to have to save Hook from himself, which is no easy task because simultaneously she will have to figure out how to save her from herself. It may be fair to classify this as one of the more convoluted situations we’ve seen on the show in some time … though it should be rather fun for us as a viewer.
Are we worried for Hook and Emma’s future? Definitely, but they’ve been through so much at this point that we like to think they’ll be able to survive this.
