‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6: Show boss would love to do movie … eventually
Let’s start this “Pretty Little Liars” article with the basics: There is going to be a seventh season. In total, another 30 episodes have been ordered (including the ten episodes airing early next year), and that will be a lot of time in order to gauge whether or not there is still an audience for some of these characters out of high school.
Well, it is looking like the powers-that-be behind the scenes of the show are still considering doing something after the run on ABC Family / Freeform. Speaking in a live-stream interview on “Good Morning America,” show creator Marlene King made it clear (per TVLine) that a movie is something that everyone is interested in at some point down the road … but not at any point soon after the show ends.
What’s the specific reasoning there? As she explains, it would allow everyone a chance to go off and do their own thing for a little while before reconvening and doing something really fun on the big screen. We like both the idea of it and the timing, but only if the actors are all interested and there is a good story for it.
Of course, we should also mention here that for the time being, there is not even confirmation that the upcoming seventh season is the last for the show. It is just something that has been spoken about in that way by some cast members over the past several months. We’ll have to wait and see when / if it becomes official.
