‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Robbie Kay returning as Peter Pan for 100th episode
The rumors are true: “Once Upon a Time” is going to be saying hello to Peter Pan in the 100th episode.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Robbie Kay is coming back following his stint on “Heroes: Reborn,” but there is still no word directly as to how Pan will be wrecking havoc on many of these characters. Our suspicion is that he will be a part of the rumored Underworld story, which is coming in the second half of the season. Given that Barbara Hershey is also coming back as Cora, it makes sense that some of the most-feared villains in the history of the show would be there.
During Pan’s previous arc in Neverland during season 3, it was revealed that he was actually the father of Rumpelstiltskin, and someone who required “the heart of the truest believer” in order to further expand his power (see: Henry). The storyline was somewhat polarizing, but not in any way because of Kay’s fantastic performance. For many, he transformed the Pan character into something that will cause them to never look at the story in the same way ever again.
If we were to sit here and theorize as to what precisely the show has planned for the Underworld arc, it would go somewhere like this: The origins of the Dark One trace back to this world, and the characters must venture there in order to once and for all defeat this monstrosity. The great thing about heading there is that it does give you a chance to see villains who are seemingly gone. Sadly, people like Sheriff Graham (Jamie Dornan) are more than likely in a better place.
