‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: First look at Mulan, Merida in action

For all of those who have been eagerly awaiting the return of Mulan to “Once Upon a Time,” the great news is that the time of waiting is almost over! Come November 15, the show will feature Jamie Chung and also Meghan Ory as Red, who each return for an epic story that ties them to Merida, the major addition to this season played by Amy Manson.

We’ve heard already that at some point during this episode, which will run for two whole hours, you will learn a little bit more in regards to where these two characters have been, and what they could be up to now. Also, you will figure out just what their purpose is moving forward. This is something that executive producer Edward Kitsis makes rather clear in a new interview with TVInsider, who also were the first to share the photo above:

“Merida’s facing a problem in the present day that involves Zelena and King Arthur … Mulan and Ruby are going to be enlisted to help her solve that problem. [So] it’s your normal show where Merida, Mulan and Little Red Riding Hood team up to fight the Wicked Witch and King Arthur. It’s just another day in Camelot!”

When will Mulan’s romantic arc begin? It’s possible that it will during this episode, but there’s no confirmation about that just yet. All we know is that it is something that will span several episodes, and give us some more insight into the characters and what their future could be.
