ABC not dropping Raven-Symone from ‘The View’ despite petition

Let this be yet another lesson to people who are interested in trying to create a petition regarding one of their favorite shows: The vast majority of time, they do not work. Not even close.

Take, for example, the latest news regarding whether or not “The View” should keep Raven-Symone. Following a series of controversial comments made by the actress, a petition was formed to remove her from the panel … and we do know very well that this petition was met with a pretty quick denial from ABC. Per Us Weekly, here is what the network had to say on the subject:

“We love Raven … She is confident, genuine and opinionated, all qualities that make her a great addition to the panel.”

Translation? Don’t hold your breath if you expect her to go anywhere. We have a pretty hard time seeing the show want to switch up the panel so early into the fall season, especially when they are getting something that they really have not had in a long time: Buzz. The lack of controversy has been a major issue with the show, as has been the lack of a consistent panel for viewers to grow and care for over time. This is one of the reasons why we feel like rival show “The Talk” has really picked up a majority of steam against it over the course of the past several weeks. After all, this show has had a panel that has continued to stay relatively stable over the past few years.
