‘The Originals’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Is Aurora out to destroy Klaus?

When you live as long as Klaus has on “The Originals,” odds are that you have quite a few skeletons in your closet. Some of these are going to be clearly revealed on next week’s new episode “The Axeman’s Letter,” with one of the main perpetrators being Aurora, a woman who clearly loved him at one point … and may still. The problem that this poses for Joseph Morgan’s character is that he does not her intentions or what she is capable of … at least for now.

If you want to get some basic news right now when it comes to what to expect from this episode as a whole, the synopsis below should give you some insight:

“As the war among the sire lines continues to grow, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) receives an unexpected visit by a figure from his past. When Elijah (Daniel Gillies) suspects that Tristan (guest star Oliver Auckland) is hiding something, he enlists Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) help to find out what he’s up to. Elsewhere, Davina (Danielle Campbell) struggles with her role as Regent and seeks advice from Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). Finally, an ancient secret that is uncovered threatens to tear the Mikaelson brothers apart for good.”

The promo below, meanwhile, paints a picture that is almost entirely about Aurora, and some of the trouble that she could bring into Klaus’ life. There is also at least enough evidence in there to know that this was not a one-sided romance many years ago; what it is today, meanwhile, is an entirely different story.
