‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Is Damien Darhk Felicity Smoak’s father?

While you are enjoying Wednesday night’s all-new episode of “Arrow,” we are pleased to tell you that we have some confirmation about a popular fan theory: Whether or not Damien Darhk is actually Felicity Smoak’s father. This is something that we have been very much terrified about ever since the beginning of this season, mostly because it would feel like such a hokey, convenient thing for the show to do.

Luckily, they’re not going in that direction, much in the same way that they did not bite on the idea of Dr. Anthony Ivo as her dad. Speaking to ComicBook.com in a new interview, executive producer Wendy Mericle had the following to say:

“That’s a great idea, and such a great teaser, I almost don’t want to spoil it … Unfortunately, no. Damien Darhk is not her father. That’s a great theory. Who knows! You guys might have just arc-ed out the rest of the season for us right then and there! No, that’s a great idea, but no, he is not. We are going to bring her father in. He will definitely be evil. He’s going to be up to no good, but it’s not going to be Damien, unfortunately. Great idea though. Huge props to everyone there. That’s amazing.”

So maybe we are going to get some further teases when it comes to Felicity’s father in the near future, but you can at least know that he will either be a new character, or someone else who is introduced under some sort of veil of secrecy.
