‘The Good Wife’ season 7, episode 5 preview: The story for Julianna Margulies, cast in ‘Payback’
Life never gets particularly easy for Alicia Florrick on “The Good Wife.” Her past comes back to haunt her, characters hold grudges, and right when she thinks that she is out of the woods on something, someone a variety of trees sprout up in the feet ahead of her.
On Sunday night’s new episode, her history (short as it may be) in bond court came back to haunt her. As for next week’s installment, her brief amount of time advising Howard Lyman will come back to bear fruit in “Payback.” If you want some news in terms of what to expect here, take a look at the attached synopsis:
“Jason employs aggressive investigative tactics when he assists Alicia and Lucca with a student loan case. Also, Howard Lyman alleges ageism at Lockhart, Agos & Lee, pointing to Cary as the primary offender, and Eli stirs up Florrick family drama on Peter’s presidential campaign.”
We feel for the Florrick family here, mostly because Eli is very good at his job … and continually stirring things up. We don’t see him changing up his skill set when it comes to these things anytime soon. The Presidential campaign is a strange one to watch for so many reasons, from it being in real-time to the fact that Peter seems to be running primarily in hopes of being picked as Vice-President. It’s interesting, but the show may actually be rather grateful that Joe Biden decided not to run. That makes things a little less complicated, and that was something that they would have been forced to write in somewhere.
