‘Longmire’ season 5 notes: The wait continues; also, People’s Choice voting!

We have not written a story about “Longmire” in what seems like a little while now, though the reason for that is simple: There just has not been too much in the way of news coming out. Netflix has been coy regarding the show’s future, and while we’re hopeful for another batch (especially given that cliffhanger ending), they still have a little bit of time to make up their mind. We figure that it would be best for them to know one way or another before the holidays, that way everyone can be prepared to pick things up in some capacity for the new year.

We of course will remind you first and foremost here that you can still write to the streaming service on Facebook or Twitter and make your thoughts on the show clear; there’s not many other ways you can get into direct contact with them, and we feel like it’s best to do things like this other than try to reach out on some channels like customer support that are meant for other things.

Now, one other reminder: Today is the last day for People’s Choice Awards voting. You can write the show in for Favorite Streaming Show at this link, and there are multiple categories that you can do the same thing for the actors. While the majority of write-in candidates do have a tendency to not make it on the final ballot, it has happened before. Also, wouldn’t this be a nice little coup for the show, and a way to have it further represented on a big stage? This is certainly the sort of thing that would be good publicity.
