ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: Can Fitz get America on his side?

When you are the President of the United States, you should be pretty aware of the fact that you are fighting many battles on an almost-constant basis. Not only are you having to get Congress on your side, but you’ve also got your family, other world leaders, the media, and of course the American people. All of them are factors in how you are perceived, and how you are remembered.

For Fitzgerald Grant on “Scandal” this season, he has to feel at the moment the danger of his reputation going up in smoke. He could be forever known as the President who publicly went on a date with his mistress, and he needs to find a way to make people separate his personal life from what he does as a President. In this tabloid culture, that is no easy task.

We have for you below the first details (via SpoilerTV) of the November 5 episode entitled “Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance,” which has to be one of our favorite titles that we’ve ever seen for the show. Take a look below:

“While Fitz is focused on winning back the American people, he makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, OPA takes on a new client, but Olivia seems preoccupied keeping her own secrets, and Elizabeth North sets her sights on a new agenda.”

What’s Elizabeth North up to? That’s probably our biggest question right now, mostly because the remainder of the stories on the show right now are a little more clear. Olivia and Fitz are so out in the open now, so is there going to really be a way to close the door on that romance?
