ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: What will Fitz do in order to find peace?

How far will Fitz go to be with Olivia? At the moment on “Scandal” season 5, this is one of the larger questions. We know now that Fitz is willing to put himself through a lot to be with her. He’s already caused chaos for Mellie, and subjected himself to the entire Washington DC press corps in order to take her out on a date. He’s even facing impeachment problems, with newly-minted Senator Mellie Grant potentially leading the charge.

On October 29 there will be an episode of the ABC series entitled “Get Out of Jail, Free,” and this may be a chance to learn a thing or two more when it comes to what Fitz can do. The synopsis below makes it clear that Mellie is still dealing with a lot of drama, and that we’re going to see the Gladiators continue to do what they can to ensure that Ms. Pope does not have to face harsh scrutiny by the media and the American people:

“Fitz and Olivia are presented with a shocking plan that might just make all of their troubles go away, and Mellie is put through the ringer when confronted about her troubled marriage. Meanwhile, the Gladiators continue to defend Olivia, and Susan Ross turns to David for advice.”

Given that this is “Scandal” and therefore is not a show particularly invested in tying up endings in a neat little bow, we don’t think life for Olivia is going to be getting any easier in the near future. As a matter of fact, it’s probably going to descend into further chaos before we start to reach the other side.
