‘Reign’ season 3, episode 3 preview: Death draws near for Francis

We know that not everyone out there may love the way that “Reign” is promoting their third season with the focus primarily on the death of Francis, but we have to admit that by and large, we really like it! It’s a gutsy call for the show to make, but we rather like it that they are taking a chance and trying to do something a little different. After all, it is in the history books that Francis dies, so there’s no spoiler here. We just like that the show can be honest about it, and you are preparing to watch the rest of the season through that lens.

“Extreme Measures” is the title for the next installment, and you can see the full synopsis below for more on what to expect:

“When King Antoine (guest star Ben Aldridge) unexpectedly returns to Court, Mary (Adelaide Kane) must help Francis (Toby Regbo) hide his weakening condition long enough to secure his family’s future. With the Throne in jeopardy and time running out, they must turn to an unlikely ally in need of redemption.”

By the time we make it to the end of this episode, is Francis going to even still be around? We unfortunately cannot confirm that one way or another, but it does certainly appear like Mary has to prepare for the worst, and also be ready to be a sole ruler in a way that she has not been to date.
