TV Quick Hits: ‘Defiance’ canceled, Hillary Clinton visits ‘The Late Show,’ ‘The Librarians’ joins Hulu

Late Show -

Defiance” canceled – Following the news earlier today about the cancellation of “Rookie Blue,” today Syfy announced in a statement that their drama “Defiance” has been canceled after three seasons: “Defiance was a truly groundbreaking series, delivering an immersive, cross-platform experience that transcended the television screen in a way that viewers had never seen before. We are incredibly proud of the work of the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — and especially showrunner Kevin Murphy — who together brought the rich world of Defiance to life over its three-season arc.”

This is the second major cancellation for Syfy this week; recently, they chose to drop the ax on “Dominion.”

Hillary Clinton visits “The Late Show” – Given that Stephen Colbert has already spoken with Bernie Sanders, Jeb Bush, and Donald Trump, it was a matter of time before Hillary Clinton got on board. The Democratic Presidential candidate, widely expected to be the favorite of the field, will appear on the October 27 episode. This is one day before the CNBC Republican Debate, which has drawn a lot of conversation so far thanks to Donald Trump’s brief boycott of the event before deciding to ultimately compete.

“The Librarians” joins the Hulu lineup – The TNT series is now, as of today, officially a part of the streaming provider. For $7.99 a month you can watch it and other shows with regular commercial breaks; meanwhile, the service has a commercial-free plan that will run $11.99. This is another nice piece to the Hulu roster, especially since the season 2 premiere is coming on November 1.
