ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 5 preview: Kerry Washington’s big story in ‘You Got Served’

Is Olivia Pope going to find a way to protect herself on “Scandal” next week? During Thursday night’s new episode, what we saw was a wide array of different struggles for her to handle what was happening to her. There were news programs interviewing anyone and everyone affiliated with her life. Meanwhile, people on the internet were threatening to kill her. Kerry Washington’s character has a thick skin, but there is a point where you start to realize that things are too much … even for her.

“You Got Served” is the title for the next new episode of the show, and we feel like going into this one, there is one key question: What is Olivia going to do in order to make life better? The answer, per the synopsis below, could end up surprising you:

“Olivia knows she can’t handle this latest storm on her own and calls for help from an unexpected source. Meanwhile, Mellie and Cyrus continue to pull strings from the sidelines and Jake is still occupied by a ghost from his past.”

The biggest note of conflict moving into the next new episode is something that is still not explicitly mentioned enough in the promo below for our liking: Is it possible that Fitz could really get impeached? This is going to be something that is very interesting to explore as we get further into this season, given that we don’t imagine this particular thread going away anytime soon. This is especially true now that Fitz has openly flaunted his new love to the world.
