‘Mr. Robot’ season 2 spoilers: How much does the cast know?
The second season of “Mr. Robot” is still ages away. Specifically, you’re not going to have a shot to see this on the air until the summer. Given the pure insanity that you started to see near the end of the first season when it comes to the things in Elliot’s head, this is going to be a rough eight or nine months.
While we know Sam Esmail is probably thinking over many ideas already as to what season to could be, just how much does the cast know? The quick answer is “not much at all.” Specifically, Carly Chaiken (Darlene) said the following per Vulture while at New York Comic-Con this weekend:
“Sam gets scared to be in close quarters with us … During the car ride [to the panel discussion], I kept on trying to predict what would happen.”
Esmail was not exactly interested in presenting much in the way of specific scoop, either; the one thing he would say is that the story is going to get so much darker moving forward than it has been so far … and that is really saying something, given that we have seen a story that is particularly dark and then some in the first season. It was cognitive, paranoid, and it played with perspective in a way few other shows did.
As a result of that, “Mr. Robot” is probably entering season 2 with higher expectations than most. They are going to have to figure out a way to handle that and focus mostly on the work.
