MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 5, episode 7 preview: Will Jenna finally confess her feelings for Matty?

On next week’s all-new episode of MTV’s “Awkward,” things are finally going to start to become a little bit clearer for Jenna Hamilton. Specifically, she’ll start to realize why Matty has not admitted to her the very thing that Gabby already knows: Where his heart lies.

As Jenna’s mom tells her in the “next time on…” portion of Monday’s episode, she told Matty to stay away. Why? Obviously, it stems from her hope that Jenna is not hurt again. It was a move made with the best of intentions, but sometimes, great intentions do not always equal the right ones.

So with this knowledge and her recent “Sex and the City” dream in mind, the mission for Jenna in this episode is rather simple: Find a way to convince Matty that they are right together, and this includes getting the courage to say the words out loud. This in itself is not going to be a particularly easy task for her thanks to all of the insecurity that she has harbored on the subject.

One thing to remember, which is probably especially good for those of you who are thinking that this story is dragging on for far too long, is that there are only a few more episodes this season, and with that, only a few more opportunities for them to get together before graduation. The final episodes of the season are going to jump forward to a year after graduation, and show us just how much life has changed for these people.
