‘Ink Master’ season 6 final 3 rankings: Will Chris Blinston, Matt O’Baugh or Dave Kruseman win?
Now that we know who our final three artists are competing for the “Ink Master” season 6 title next week, we thought that it was time for our traditional CarterMatt contestant rankings! These are just our predictions, and we have no idea who is actually going to win at the live finale next week. This is really just for fun!
Those of you who have been coming to us for your “Ink Master” news the past few years are familiar with our rankings system, but for those of you who are new to us, here’s the deal. We rank the final three artists based on over all body of work, TV edit, judge’s fondness for the artist (since that plays a huge role) and how we think they will perform on their final tattoo, and based on that information we make our predictions on who we think will win the season. That being said, let’s check out where everyone landed in our rankings this year.
3. Dave Kruseman: When Kruseman got a pass during stained glass week for not fulfilling the challenge, and Miami was sent home by the judges a few weeks before for the same reason we were a little soured on Kruseman, but his positive attitude and gorgeous designs made it easy for us to fall back in love with him. It’s not his fault that the judges aren’t consistent or holding everyone up to the same standards, but having him redo his stained glass tattoo in the last episode made him a winner in our eyes. That stained glass carousel horse was remarkable and would’ve given St. Marq a run for his money. He deserves a spot in the finale – there’s no doubt about it, but he’s going to have a hard time winning the title. With Matt and Chris getting a “rivals” type edit, they seem to be the obvious choice to go head to head for the title unless Kruseman’s American traditional piece is something really outstanding!
2. Matt O’Baugh: He has such a crazy fan following on top of being one heck of an artist and we see him easily winning the “6 hour” challenge in the finale and securing a spot in the final 2. If it wasn’t for the judge’s obvious affections for Chris (he can even call them out on their judging and still make it to the finale), we actually think that Matt should win this season. He has created some of our favorite tattoos as well as our favorite TV moment on the show ever (watching Matt teaching his guest artist with Down-Syndrome how to draw a treasure chest had us drowning in a pool of tears). We know that Matt can do a really huge back piece in 6 hours (as we saw on NFL day), so we can only image what he’s going to bring to the table in a 35 hour piece.
1. Chris Blinston: Is it a surprise to anyone that we put Chris in the number one spot? Ever since taking out St. Marq at the beginning of the competition, he has pretty much locked himself in as the winner in the judges eyes. He has found himself in the bottom this season, but it really hasn’t changed how the judges think of him and as long time reviewers of this show we know that some of the judging panel pick their favorites early on and they can do no wrong. That being said, Chris has played one heck of a game! Besides a slip up on an anatomical heart (he switched the colors on the aorta and pulmonary arteries) he has shown a wide range of skills. He is also the first contestant to play a heavy strategic game that includes alliances. We find it hard to say that anyone else played this game harder the Chris.
