‘Arrow’ season 4 video: Emily Bett Rickards on Felicity’s new gig, relationship with Oliver

The fourth season of “Arrow” is premiering on Wednesday night, and with that of course comes changes, surprises, danger, and a whole lot more.

Before we start to see some of that, let’s take a deep breath and discuss where we are beginning with Oliver and Felicity. As Emily Bett Rickards explains in the new video below, five months have passed between the end of season 3 and where we are now, and in that time the new couple has spent their time traveling, relaxing, and having something akin to an ordinary life. It’s something that Oliver has not known since really before departing on that infamous boat trip that started it all.

Before Oliver even gets the calling to don the Arrow costume (soon to be the Green Arrow costume), we are going to see Felicity’s new job as the CEO of Palmer Technologies. Rickards mentions that her character is incredibly good at the work that she is doing, but there are some elements to it, such as firing people and being a leader, that do not come as naturally to her as others. This creates somewhat of a challenge.

Still, does anyone else feel there is something bubbling underneath the surface still with Felicity? The thing here is that we feel like Oliver is genuinely content with a chill life at this point given the island and everything that he’s been throw. Felicity may still have that thirst, which is why when Thea and Laurel call on him for help, she seems to waste no time getting everything ready for him to go out and dive into combat.
