‘Bones’ season 11 spoilers: Is Booth set to struggle over significant loss?
What you do have to remember is that sometimes, you can feel like other people in your life are family even though they are not. It is for this reason that in many ways, losing John Francis Daley’s character may have been the more significant death of the two when it comes to Booth’s long-term journey this season. In explaining why you probably should not expect a lengthy mourning period, David Boreanaz had the following to pass along per Entertainment Weekly:
“It won’t be as dark because Booth’s relationship with his brother was one where he couldn’t help him while he was alive, and he couldn’t help him when he was dead. There are things that happen where we can’t find his ashes and there’s a problem in the second episode. He feels like he can’t help his brother, he never could help his brother. It’s sad, but it’s not the type of thing that will affect him long term.”
This is the sort of quote that does make us believe that the disappearance plotline will probably not carry on too much longer. “Bones” is a procedural, after all, and the series seems more or less ready to take on a variety of other subjects and more traditional cases.
