ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 2 preview: Kerry Washington, cast prepare for what is next in ‘Yes’
If you are looking for an episode of “Scandal” with a fairly-simple episode title, you don’t have to look any further than “Yes,” which is the installment of the ABC show that is airing next week. We expect there to be a variety of different twists and turns that come into play soon, and of course, one of the big ones is going to come via Olivia and Fitz. How do they keep what is happening between the two of them a secret? Well, they can’t thanks to the end of the episode.
One thing that is clear in the synopsis for the next episode is that it looks like Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn’s characters are going to be spending at least a little bit of time apart, but it could be for work just as much as it is personal:
“The Pope and Associates team dives into a new case that takes Olivia out of D.C. and away from the President. Meanwhile, back at the White House, Fitz is determined to find who’s responsible for causing the latest turn of events, and Abby receives unexpected guidance from a master of damage control as she struggles to catch a break.”
Just in case you were wondering just how much Abby in particular is having to deal with right now, you start with Olivia and Fitz’s relationship and then end with Elizabeth North. You have two different, powerful women telling the President different things, and you never quite know what sort of information you are meant to relay. Also, we imagine that Mellie will also still find a way to make her mark.
