‘Black Sails’ season 3 to premiere in January; cast talk pirate ship names in new video
While Starz is still being at least somewhat secretive when it comes to the upcoming season 3 premiere date for “Black Sails,” we can at least tell you something right now that we are rather pleased to know for certain: The show will be back in grand fashion in January 2016.
Is it possible that it will air on a different night other than Saturday? We suppose that the answer here is yes, but we’re not that certain we will see a change. The struggle that the network is getting into is that with “American Gods” coming, “Outlander” airing thirteen episodes at once, and them having more shows in general than they have other the past year or two, they will have to make a few programming decisions. Either they will start doubling up on shows every week, or they will have to move a thing or two to Friday, where they used to air some programming.
Regardless of when it airs, at least rejoice that it is coming back in January, which from our vantage point further solidifies “Outlander” as starting in either March or April.
This premiere month is confirmed in the video below, which gives you a variety of cool shots of some upcoming costumes, but also what each one of the cast members would do if they had a pirate ship … mostly in the realm of what they would name it. In case you are wondering why we are getting a featurette for a show premiering in January in late September, there are two reasons for it:
1. Starz is being very kind and generous.
2. Saturday was Talk Like a Pirate Day, and Starz mentions in the description for this video that it was uploaded in honor of that.
