‘Ink Master’ season 6, episode 12 podcast: Jessa, Bart talk Matt O’Baugh and a heart warming moment
There was a lot to love about this last episode of “Ink Master” season 6 – it was a touching, inspiring and heart warming episode that left us wanting more. We typically only get one of these episodes a season on “Ink Master” (with our favorite being when they brought in breast cancer survivors to get tattooed), but we wish there were more. We understand that this is a tattoo show and they want to be as edgy as possible with lots of fights, bad ass product placement (Dodge, booze and electronics) and mean looking tattoos, but there’s something really special about seeing an industry that is looked at as edgy be a little softer – it opens the industry up to everyone.
With that being said, Jessa and Bart are going to be discussing the “Ink Master” flash challenge this week in the CarterMatt podcast and taking a look at how these types of episodes may actually bring in viewers that may not typically watch this show. Does having heart warming stories open up the viewership to a wider audience? Also, how amazing was it to see artists with down syndrome creating beautiful works of art with the tattoo artists? Matt O’Baugh was our winner this week when he sat down with his artist and taught her how to draw a treasure chest instead of just doing if for her – just when we thought we couldn’t love Matt anymore, he does this!
Of course this wouldn’t be a “Ink Master” season 6 podcast if we didn’t talk alliances! We know the house is divided and we saw Craig and Matt as well as Chris and Tyler both try to pull Erik towards their alliances, and while Erik did throw Chris and Tyler easier canvases, it ultimately didn’t matter since he had the skull pick and got himself sent home. We will discuss what we thought of Erik’s decisions with the skull pick and what we think went wrong for a guy we easily saw making a run for the title without any help from anyone.
